Casa Falerone is well placed for the coast with a direct route, on a straight valley road around Fermo directly into Porto St Giorgio.

We have visited several resorts along the coastline from Monte Conero in the north, just under Ancona to Grottammare in the south. As you would expect with such an extensive coastline the Marche resorts do offer significant differences, the benefit to its visitors is that you are bound to find the resort to suit you.

For a guide on the places that we have visited along the coast see ……

When visiting the coast please take into account the season tends to be quite short. If you are travelling from the end of September through to the end of April you can expect many of the bars and some restaurants to be closed.

On our visit to Grottammare last October many of the seafront restaurants were closed, however we did find one that was open and the owner told us that the restaurants take it in turns to open one night each during the week, ensuring that the great tastes of the Marche continue throughout the year. There is still large choice of restaurants available including many hotels providing a great choice of food.

In the larger resorts many of the beach areas have chalets / bars on a concession basis that provide sun loungers and umbrellas.

You can expect to pay for the use of the loungers but for a few euros you can enjoy the use of often good facilities that include toilet, shower, changing room and the opportunity to buy bottled water, a beer or a super lunch.

The beach is usually clean and well looked after.

There are free areas of beach available but these tend not to be cleaned regularly and are often in a less attractive area of the beach with no facilities and a long walk back to the car!
