It was a pleasure last summer to be able to explore the coastal areas of Le Marche. Starting with the most northern point from Casa Falerone, our journey started just under Ancona at Monte Conero. There is such a diversity between the resorts, that you are sure to find several to meet your needs, from those providing the golden sandy beaches to those with some of the most stunning scenery along the Adriatic. Not to mention some that are close enough for that lunch of fresh fish from the catch of the day or a light salad. We have only just begun our adventures and have not yet scratched the surface of these wonderful resorts. That is one of the great advantages of Le Marche, everyday there is someplace new to explore. We hope you will join us on our journey and that you can experience the joys of Le Marche with us.

Monte Conero

With a journey time of 60mins from Casa Falerone Monte Conero was the first of the regional parks to be created in 1987.It is clear to see how this shoreline has become the Conero Riviera, providing some of the most stunning scenery along the Adriatic coast.A wonderful scenic road winds its way through the area with a wide range of colours on display within the plant life.

Porto Sant’Elpido

South of Civitanova, north of Porto San Giorgio the old sailors village of Porto Sant’ Elpido is now a well established seaside resort along with a very attractive promenade with grass and palm trees. To the northern end lies an attractive pine wood. The Marche is a renowned area for the manufacture of shoes and you will find a number of shops locally with some affordable, well made shoes available.

Porto San Giorgio

Just 30mins from Casa Falerone, Porto San Giorgio used to be the ancient port for the hilltop city of Fermo nearby. The resort enjoys a wonderful long sandy beach with many wonderful seafront villas boasting a charm from a bygone age. There are a number of very good priced restaurants serving fresh local fish. At the far southern end of the resort is the marina with sufficient space for over 1,000 yachts.

Grottammare

Those looking for a sense of history, a place of beauty, a fantastic sandy beach and a town that comes alive at night will find it in Grottammare.Having spent a week last July and returned again in September Grottammare is just 60mins from Casa Falerone straight down the A14.

Delivering on three different levels this resort is sure to have something for everyone. The wonderful sandy beach separates the sea from the liberty style architecture of the seafront villas. The promenade is pedestrianised and is a haven for walkers, cyclists and joggers. At night the bars and restaurants come alive supported by the numerous outside stall holders and street entertainers.

High on a hill surrounded by ancient walls and cobbled streets lays the old town. Commanding views across the resort and out to sea. The old town is great for an evening stroll and a real taste of the Marche can be had at the several rustic eateries where eating outside is a real treat. Back down on ground level and towards the south end of Grottammare is the new town, home to the seafront hotels and beachfront restaurants. Here you can find some fantastic reasonably priced restaurants serving really good local fish dishes from catches of the day.
